So I’m working on another website for yet another catering company! This company is called Purple Sage Catering and their current web page is at http://www.cateringpurplesage.com
I’ve got a great layout already and it should be finished by the new year! This guy does some great ice sculptures (he did an ice cream bar for my wedding!) and his presentations are great. Make sure to check out the site when it’s finished so you can give it a before and after comparison.
On a side note, I did a little research about ice sculptures and found some interesting stuff:
- An ice sculpture created from 300 pounds of clear ice displayed at a room temperature of 70 degrees Fahrenheit, not exposed to wind or direct sunlight, could last 4-8 hours.
- The average weight of a two-block ice sculpture is 300-500 pounds.
- The more time spent circulating the water during the freezing process plus using the best quality water makes for a clear block of ice.
- There are three types of ice that can be used for sculpting:
- Basic canned ice with a feather in the core
- Naturally made ice
- Crystal clear ice blocks. Which cost the sculptor two to three times more than the canned ice.
Interesting stuff…
